Welcome!
December 10th, 2007 by Todd MoreyWelcome to the Mosso blog. Mosso is a company created especially for people who are using their passion and talents to create unique, amazing web applications. We love our customers because they are some of the most creative designers, developers, and thinkers on the internet.
This is an important point in our company’s history for us to join the ranks of blogging companies: 2008 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for Mosso, and we’ve been needing a place to publicly share some of our ideas and plans.
Over the next few months, we’ll be presenting some exciting new developments: we’re radically expanding our platform and infrastructure, launching a complete rewrite of our software and control panels, and making some changes to how we package and sell Mosso services.
None of this would be possible without the hard work of the Mosso team—a team that has grown considerably over the last year. You’ll get to meet many of the Mosso employees here in this blog as they post technical articles relevant to our platform and the web development community at large.
I’ll let Josh officially kick of the discussions with his experiences building the Beta of our new IIS 7 / .Net 3.0 offering. Thank you to all the dedicated web developers who have made Mosso possible. We look forward to delivering even more great features to you in 2008.

Hi - I am a web developer and a Rackspace dedicated server customer. I called Rackspace today to ask if they could help with a new venture I am starting. I need a hosting solution (that is not me for all the reasons you know only too well), for my new clients, and they said my best best was to contact Mosso. They were really singing your praises, and said you were being supported by Rackspace.
I chatted with a Mosso support specialist, and your company sounded like just what we need, and the pricing is great, BUT there is one issue which means I can’t use your service so I thought I’d tell you about it and maybe one day if you address it you could let me know.
I am in the UK and a large proportion of my target audience are in the UK. This means the lack of a toll free support telephone number for UK callers will make them call me instead, and that will be self-defeating. Are you going to set up a toll free UK number any time soon? Rackspace have one and often when I call Rackspace it is answered by someone in the US, so the call is patched through transparently to America. Can you do the same thing??

Is this a good place to ask a question about your hosting? Please get in touch with me. Thanks.

Thanks for the inquiry! The best (fastest) way to get your questions answered is using our live chat link available in the top right corner of each page. We’ve got folks 24/7 who know the system well and can help out with any questions. Also, feel free to call us (US 1-877-934-0409) or send an email to sales@mosso.com. Any of those avenues should get you some friendly and knowledgeable help.

Hi - I wanted to echo and perhaps expand a wee bit on Liz Jamieson’s request for a UK based 800 number. I am a UK expat developer currently located in N Virginia and do have a bunch of clients in the UK. In addition , my partner is based in Brisbane in Australia and we have a bunch of clients in that great land too.
I do realize though that there is a significant cost associated with providing a toll-free number service. An ordinary US number that our non US customers could call for support would be a good compromise perhaps. Europeans and Australians have a myriad of call plans that bring down the cost of a call to the USA and there is always Skype too.
Kind regards
Joe

Correction to my last! There is a US number for international clients to use: 1.210.581.0407.
Kind regards
